GRAPHING CALCULATOR GUIDE

How to plot multiple equations on one graph

Comparing equations in one coordinate window makes it easier to see intersections, roots, and changes in shape or scale.

FORMULA

Examples: y = 2x + 1, y = x² − 4, y = sin(x), x = 3

WORKED EXAMPLE

Plot y = x² − 4 and y = 2x + 1. Use graph analysis to estimate their intersections, then switch to the table to inspect values.

STEP BY STEP

01

Enter one equation per line

Use y = expressions for functions. Use x = a number to plot a vertical line.

02

Keep lines visible and choose a graph window

Adjust the x and y limits when a curve is too flat, too large, or outside the current view.

03

Use graph, table, and analysis together

Trace a value, inspect a table, then use the analysis view for approximate roots and intersections.
